We are looking for someone to join our design team. You would be responsible for creating artwork/designs for our customers and machine ready files, so we really need someone with experience in embroidery software packages, other print related design software and possibly a bit of website design/build knowledge.

If you fancy working in a fast paced environment where no two days are the same? Then Golden Finishes is the place for you!

The team here are a crazy bunch, but we love what we do! (And of course we will reward you well financially).

Badges come in all different shapes, sizes and styles - embroidered, printed, woven and wire just to name a few. Our team have created badges (patches) call them what you like for all sorts of purposes. We’ve seen it all…. everything from the weird & wacky to the just plain wonderful!

And just when we thought we have seen it all, it was announced this week that Scout badges are to undergo a major revamp bringing them into 2015. Out with the old and in with the new – traditional badges such as wood-whittling, blacksmithery and much more are no more. The introduction of up to 250 new badges for activities such as computing, photography, philanthropy will make the traditionalists gasp…. but we are naturally biased always looking for new designs for badges.

This story got us thinking, being self-confessed ‘Badgeaholics’ we are keen to see badges being worn wherever we turn – which sadly is not the case anymore. Badges commonly mark achievements & rewards and we just want people to show off their success (and, of course their badges).

Despite textile businesses using a more modern approach to textiles & design seeking innovative ways to stand out from the crowd and create the latest trend, we believe there will always be a place for badges. Badges bring a sense of sentiment, tradition & heritage – there is normally more to a badge than it being simply a badge. It marks an event, a memory, or an achievement of yours…

The times may be changing, but we are not! We aim to provide customers the same high-quality badges we have been producing for over the last 25 years using our same traditional approaches.

Over the last 25 years we have continuously invested in the latest technology to keep up with the industries evolving demands and this year’s no different. We decided to significantly invest in automating our Digitizing to take some of our Golden Finishes products to the next level, a higher standard than ever before, so we are delighted to announce our recent investment in the latest Wilcom DecoStudio e3 Software.

As we have said over the last 25 years we’ve continued to invest in the latest technology… and we plan to continually invest for many more years to come.  After all, all of our products require some piece of software, hardware or technology somewhere along the line!

We plan to have the Wilcom software up and running at Golden Finishes HQ ASAP. Combining our experienced staff (they’ve been in the industry since it’s pretty much begun) with the latest technology, we can be confident in guaranteeing we can bring you the best digitized products in the trade for many years to come!

With many years’ experience (some would say maybe even hundreds) we consider ourselves the go to business for all things badges. We consider them patches one of our specialities here at Golden Finishes.

We have been making badges for all sorts of clients from all sorts of backgrounds for a very very long time ranging from the totally professional badges for organisations such as the police and army to the totally ludicrous weird and wacky for individuals. But you name it, we've probably made it at some point, our customers are a varied bunch to say the least.

Being the go to badge makers, we thought we'd pass on some of our wisdom to you. Here are some of our favourite facts about our badges (in no particular order of course):

• We produce a huge amount of badges, just a shade over a whopping ONE MILLION badges per year!
• The average stitch count for a badge is 6248! 
• Badges go all the way back to the early ages, the same time we started producing them!
• Badges are a garment decorator’s best kept secret – often said it’s the easiest way to cover up a little mistake.
• Badges are a tricky business; you can’t always have DTG so people often ask for just the badge itself to sew on.
